Default Fireman - Candid Street Portrait

Hello there DPS,

First photo I've posted on here!

This was a candid photo taken from behind the police tape a couple weeks ago. There was a fire on the street below mine and I decided to go down and rubberneck a little.

It was taken with a Canon XSi w/ the 50/1.4 on it. Post was done in Lightroom.

Comments (positive or negative) are always welcome.

On a side note, does anyone with experience w/ stock photography think this shot has any merit as a stock photo? Someone mentioned that it might be good for something like that, but as I have no experience w/ that, I really have no idea.

Clicking on the photo links to a larger size.

Nice shot, stock photos are any ones guess. That's why they are stock. Some body may want to use this for some kind of depiction who knows!

It's a fabulous photo regardless, but is a wonderful candid in its own right. I have zero experience with stock photos etc, but you could contact your local newspapers/magazines etc (especially as this was a local occurrence) - they might be interested in using it in a publication.

I know, isn't that true! I feel that way when I see military service personnel - it scares me to see guys and girls who look (and often are) so very young & have these "front line" vocations. Many are literally half my age.

It is a great photo!

But you may need to have him sign permission for you to use it/sell it to stock photos. You should contact him anyway, because it's rare for public safety people (or anyone actually) to have a nice looking portrait while working (press photos are usually of backsides/unflattering) and he'd probably LOVE to have this.
