Auckland celebrates Diwali 2009
Diwali (or Dīpāvali) is a five day Hindu festival of light celebrated in October.
In New Zealand, Diwali is celebrated publicly among many of the South Asian diaspora cultural groups. There are main public festivals in Auckland and Wellington, with other events around the country becoming more popular and visible.
