Default Drop falling from tap (B&W)

Saw a similar picture on Flickr. Let's call it attempt 1.
Still not happy with the result

Great job! I love the B&W and the first one is my favorite, I love the angle you've captured the tap at. I also especially love the depth of field you've used, it works great.

Welcome to DPS, Ronald. Not sure why you're not happy with them! They look great. The b/w works well here. I really like the first one, though. Great DOF. Polishing up the metal would really make that shot POP!! Can't wait to see more of your b/w work. TFS

Well, I'm a bit frustrated with the (lack of) sharpness in the drop. I'd like it to be crystal clear with a nice reflection. I'm not sure if this is possible by using a single flash and a sync speed of 1/200.

You would polish it up? Hmm, I wanted to try the old, dirty look. Never thought of cleaning the tap. I will definitely try it!

I love the black and white! The depth of field gives it a dramatic look to me. They are great shots!

Will do! Already planned on doing the last again. It needs a little bit more space imo.
Thanks for the comments all!
