Default Our Bonding Hands

Many men will agree that being a father is the most rewarding relationship that they have. Children begin by loving their fathers unconditionally. It is a clean slate. There is nothing the father has to do to earn his child's love. The difficult part is not losing it. As the child goes out into the world, he will see all kinds of men whom he will look to as models as well. It is crucial that his father stay active in his life and help him make intelligent decisions. A boy without a father will look elsewhere to fill his father's shoes.

Love this thread Duane. Both photos are beautiful & tell their own story, but the first one is quite a tear-jerker! Very poignant words to go with them too.

It is a very rich and fortunate man whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.
Nicely captured and presented Duane, the black and white works well

Lovely shots Duane. Love them both, and I like the black & white treatment. And you are completely right in what you said - the hardest part is not losing the love. TFS.

Really nice set Duane, I remember when my son was that young! This really hit home since he just moved out on his own 2 weeks ago.

Beautiful shots, Duane. A father's love...very nicely captured in that first shot. Being a father is something I never, ever thought I'd become. Now with with 3 under 12, I don't really remember my existence without them. All I can say to other fathers and fathers to be is be involved with them at all costs. I coach their soccer, golf, and archery acitivities. Sometimes, I'm sure, they wish I was less involved!! But at the end of the day, no matter what has happened, I always get that genuine, "Good night, Dad. I love you...." as they head up the stairs to bed. ...and as I sit in my recliner, I smile to myself and thank God he made me a father...despite all the protests by angels!!

Thanks for sharing a great set, Duane!

Indeed and amen. I've also heard that girls learn they are lovable more from their dad's than from their moms. My dad was a quiet, hard-working man. He didn't actually spend much time me--almost none. But he always looked at me with eyes of love and that has made all the difference. He's been gone 30 plus years and I can still remember...and am remembering today because of your beautiful photos and words. Thanks.
