Default Fog on Florida RIver

Here are 2 from a hike my dog and I took earlier this morning, about a 30 minute drive east of Tampa, Florida. This is a branch of the Alafia River.

Most locals and tourists head to the beaches and don't see this type of Florida scenery too often. Which in a way is good, because I've spent at least 15 hours total on this trail over the last few years and have never seen another person on it.

This is the first time I've been there when fog was present. I used my back back as a tripod.

And if you look closely at the second one, you can see just a hint of something rare: a tiny bit of Florida white water. There aren't too many "rapids" in this state.

Foggy Alafia 1

Foggy Alafia 2

Thanks for looking.

Chip, these are just stunning. Love the colors and reflections, and the composition of the 2nd makes it my favorite. The fog add such a wonderful moodiness. Thanks for sharing them!

I like them both, the mists swirling around the beautiful colours you've captured in this fascinating but seemingly unappealing part of your world.
I think its a great looking location unless there are creatures in the water that want to eat you, then it loses some of its appeal to me as well.
Creatures or not, I do like them both and the second is my favourite for the lesser amout of mist and the greater amount of refelections

I've never been to Florida but seeing fotos like this makes me want to go. I'd also be worried about gators and would probably carry one of my BIG revolvers. TFS.

Oh gosh, Chip, I love the feel of these photos. The fog gives it an ethereal mood. You can sense how quiet it was, probably just little quiet chirps. I especially like the color palette--two colors--with a myriad of a variations on each. A trail with no people. Heaven!
