Default Thanksgiving hike with the wife.

After about 3 hours of hiking in search of wild turkeys, we were about to give up our efforts and go get ready for thanksgiving... At which point, we happened to stumble on a group of them about 15 feet from me. Unfortunately, I had the wrong lens on and couldn't get a wide shot up close. It was a good hike anyway since I still got to show my wife wild turkeys, she'd never seen any before. So, here's our thanksgiving turkeys...

For Mar Nature Preserve, Burton/Davison Michigan border.

After seeing the turkeys and other wildlife at one area park, we decided to go to another for a quick scope of the place. While there, we saw a bridge that I thought looked interesting and shot a few there, too. The underside was coated with stalactites clinging to the limestone in the concrete.

The Capital Theater, Downtown Flint, Michigan. (Briefly seen in Will Ferrell's movie, Semi-Pro.) http://img.groundspeak.com/waymarkin...cc64020dbf.jpg

I think this is one of the coolest looking buildings downtown, Flint. It's got great architectural features.

Cool shots, even if you didn't have your preferred lens! Glad you at least managed to see some turkeys after your long walk too. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks! It was a great hike. I almost feel bad that we ate their cousin for dinner, but he sure was good.

I think the best thing about my day was seeing how excited my wife got when we stumbled on the turkeys! I always get excited too, but her face lit up like a little kid's at christmas.

If I was thinking, I would have got a candid shot of that, too. It would have made for a great upload! It just happened so fast, I was focused on getting a couple of the turkeys before they ran off. Fortunately and unfortunately, we were so close to them when we found them, I didn't have time to switch lenses before they were off and running (which is a funny sight on it's own.)

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving as well!
