Taken in my front yard on Thanksgiving morning. I love late bloomers, their triumph stands out all the more...

A fabulous find Mike! It's so cool how you've captured the blooming and the bloomed in one fell swoop. Lovely yellows too.

first is wonderfully composed with its fallen comrades all around.....your flower is a bit rough around the edges but a true sign of the last soldier standing

Two things in common: Dylan Thomas and Late Bloomers. There's such a poingnant feel to these shots. I especially like the delicate play of light on the petals. You photo has me thinking about the seeds these flowers are fighting so valiantly to produce. A future garden in the making. It's all so counter intuitive at times, isn't it?

Wonderful set Mike. Life is a struggle and these are proof that through the struggle life becomes something of value and beauty. Great shots buddy.
