Wow, more fantastic pics from this reenactment! I must get to one next year, they're great photo opportunities obviously. I love that last shot especially.

Some Nice shots of Civil War re-enactment. Where were they taken? I like the second shot with the action and the way the smoke clouds those in the background.

I really love reenactments, especially when they are realistic.
Unfortunately there are some factors which spoil the realism - even though the reenactors are very careful about uniforms and equipment: The three areas in which reenactment photography loses realism is: 1. Most reenactors are too fat! I realize that the lean and hungry look cannot be put on like a uniform but, look at any actual pictures of the Civil War; except for some higher ranking officers, all the troops were on the lean side... 2. Eye glasses. Some of us need spectacles but, I cannot remember a real Civil War photo of a soldier wearing glasses. If there were some, they would not be modern looking ones and certainly not sunglasses... 3. Female soldiers! I know that this point is not politically correct but, female soldiers taking part in the reenactments destroy the illusion of reality. Granted, there were supposed to have been some females who impersonated men and actually fought, but these females would not have their gender as obvious as do some reenactors and would have been few and far between. That said, I love reenactments and they are great living history lessons as well as wonderful photo opportunities. |

These guys tend to be obsessed with detail, and I like some of the original artefacts they have collected, and worth a bob or two I'll be bound. Love the black powder smoke effect in shot 2. I enjoyed viewing these. Thanks. PAUL
