Default By request, more from the Grand Canyon and the PNF

Here are a few more shots...some of the Grand Canyon...some of the Petrified National Forest (PNF). I started playing with the PNF shots in selective color and REALLY liked how they turned out.

These were actually taken with my old PnS...a 10mgpxl Sony DSC-N2, on an earlier trip to the canyon...before my D3. Hope you like!

...now my faves!

Check out the large ones to see some really cool detail in the petrified wood...

What great shots! I went to both places when I was a kid...drove from Ohio on a family vacation. I hope to take my girls there someday...there is so much to see in this great land! TFS!

Jim, those are some really great clouds in your first two and the selective coloring in the last two suits them very well.

I can see you are having fun Jim and making us all (well me certainly) envious of your skills and techniques. Will I ever get there? Thanks for these mate, you have every reason to be proud of them. PAUL

Your Grand Canyon photos are gorgeous. I love them both, B&W & color. The colors are fabulous. I'd never even heard of the PNF until now, but I already want to go there. You're right, the selective coloring works brilliantly for these, and the detail in the wood, especially in the 2nd shot, is spectacular.

Thanks, Doug. Great place for the kids..just keep 'em away from the unprotected edges...people fall in every week.

Thanks, Mike. I know SC is off the grid, but I'm really starting to develop a taste for it. It's got a pretty good Wow factor to those w/o the photo-bug!
