Thank you all for your comments and replies. I do not know much about birds, but will try to find out which one is this.

I think it's a ringneck parakeet. I could be wrong though, we used to have a yellow one and it looks the same shape.

An escaped pet i'd imagine, although I believe there are some 'feral' flocks of them around. I think they come from india originally.

I expect I am wrong but is it not a lovebird. My neighbour in Windhoek kept quite a few of these. Lovely birds but made a racket every morning. I don't suppose it will survive outside in the Netherlands though.
