Really nice. I saw a cardinal out of my window today but I didn't get the camera out in time. You got a good shot.

A very nice shot, Eduardo. I love the simplicity of the composition, and the colour contrast between the bird and the rest of the shot. TFS.

How wonderful to be able to grab your camera and get the photo before he flew off! Very nicely done. So glad you've shared it with us.

Hi all,

Thank you all for your comments and replies. I do not know much about birds, but will try to find out which one is this.

I think it's a ringneck parakeet. I could be wrong though, we used to have a yellow one and it looks the same shape.

An escaped pet i'd imagine, although I believe there are some 'feral' flocks of them around. I think they come from india originally.

Just googled it for you, here it is http://www.avianweb.com/indianringneck.html

I expect I am wrong but is it not a lovebird. My neighbour in Windhoek kept quite a few of these. Lovely birds but made a racket every morning. I don't suppose it will survive outside in the Netherlands though.
