Default One more Blue Jay

This one isn't as good as the other two, but it shows you how important LOCATION is. The shot of the bird is good, but the location is a bit boring, taking away from the shot.

Didn't see the others primetime, but the contrasting blue and green along with DOF and composition make this a good show for me. Love it. PAUL

Very nice! I love the DOF and the intensity in the blue jay - both colorwise and his expression.

Beautiful shot...I don't recall that I saw the others, but I can see what you're saying.

This one isn't as good as the other two

I'm not sure about about that Prime, I think its different, and as you know a tight crop would lose half the background and change the look completely anyway.

yeah, I agree ... this one is terrible... it's in perfect focus, crisp clean color tones, and the bird's face isn't planted in the vibrant green grass .. yeah, I would bin it

I'd agree the jay in the tree creates a sense of action and lifts it up and you get the full body and tail ... but the green grass really adds a nice variation from the beautiful blue.

You have such high standards that a great shot might not be as rewarding, since you consisently get " WOW , this is amazing " .. but I really like it and think it's worthy of being included in the " Blue Jay " section.

Thank you bethard. I like the quality of the shot, just not the setting. Sometimes i watch an area with a GREAT setting and wait for wildlife to show up, instead of finding the wildlife and shooting where they are.(hope that makes sense)
