Hi all,

Winter here is typically clear skies and calm conditions. I am just back from taking this shot about 20 minutes from the house. This is Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan.

Because of the half moon I had to cut the ISO and add some to the Aperture to get a nice exposure. We're heading off in the morning up to the high peaks at about 15000 feet to shoot up there for a few days...

Wow this turned out very well, beautiful shot. I am curious about the amount of noise for such a long exposure. Did you have to do some noise reduction or is this that noise free from the camera?

The D700 is a phenomenal low light camera. There was no noise at 100 ISO and for thsis type of work I wouldn't expect any up to 1000 ISO. Yes, I have the in camera noise reduction on, which basically shuts the camera down for a further hour after the shutter closes. INconvenient unless you have a second body.
