Default Dip the whole kid in Bronze

I must have passed this bronze statue on the way to the beach a few hundred times, I finally took a few shots of it, it embodies the energy and joy of children playing

Bronze Children
but try as I might I couldn't line up a background that I liked..horizontal lines slicing thru the middle.

But I did like the wall of reeds and cattails close by

ReedsBG

so the kids got ripped out using the selection brush and masking ( I missed cleaning up a few spots, oh well )
IMG_8657ripped

now, what to do with it ?? , well I was bored, so it got the treatment,

BronzeKids

I colored the BG to mimic a sunset, used a gaussian blur to fake a blurred DOF, the Kids were inserted, I put a golden yellow spot on the faces to light them up, then toned down the saturation a bit... then I threw it on Coreal paint and gave it a wet oil color on black canvas... back to photoshop , used a healing brush to clean up and a minor levels adjust.
text, vignette and frame by flickr.

now this is in no way a " how to " .. I'm just explaining what editing I used, thanks for taking a look,

Vin

Most people would just have their kids BABY SHOES bronzed. Kidding. Great original and darn good pp work. TFS.

Hiyas Patrick, don't concern yourself with all the mumbo jumbo talk.. the first thing that became apparent while practicing what I learn from the tutorials is you have to have a good photo to begin with, the ignorance comes from thinking Post processing and fancy editing make up for a a photographer with his eyes closed.

Your eyes are wide open and there's nothing ignorant about you share with us.

Thanks Haywood, I can't learn something and practice without playing around and having fun... I'm in a creative mood lately and trying all sorts of things, at the same times alot of what I've been doing can apply to more realistic natural images, I just like going nuts sometimes lol

thanks everyone for your encouraging comments

Vin
