Been a long time since I last posted. Been swamped with work... But I still managed to go out during a 3 day weekend in Japan to Kamakura where there is a huge Buddha almost 50' high. Very impressive. So here are 3 photos. The Daibutsu at Kamakura and his considerably smaller buddies

Very nice shots! I live here in Japan. I actually live in Zushi. It's the town one stop down from Kamakura on the JR train. I love going to Kamakura when I can. I did some work for a tourist website in Kamakura. Walking through the streets there is so relaxing and fun. That's if you go first thing in the morning
I'm glad that you have enjoyed yourself here. I know I do!!

I just saw your shots. Very nice. I come to Tokyo about once a month or so on business so I've been taking photos here to share with my friends back in the US
There's more photos here:Tim’s Ramblings :: Kamakura – The History And more from Japan just at the blog itself. Kamakura was a zoo on Saturday as expected. I've never seen the Enoden so packed before. It was a chore just to get some of those shots without anyone stepping into the frame! I used my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 micro four thirds camera though and it worked out great! Perfect for a sightseeing camera ![]() I'll have to go back and hit up some of the other temples and shrines there on a normal weekend!

I used to live in Japan, and I've been to see this Buddha a few times. It's amazing.
