This Mountain and I ![]() As the sky lights up countless trees Sunrise has come to bless my way Comes another day away from my yesterdays Yes they wait just over this mountain Down a steep ragged hill across a rock gurgling streams into the valley low This mountain and I are one It knows I mean it no harm It allows me to live here in peace The Blue Jay screams you go as Crows on the way give a call I will walk back to the spring down below and just sit there and take in THE ALL Its is another grand day on the mountain Duane

Nice shot, Duane! Love the poem too! There truly is no free-er feeling than being out in the wilderness, especially in mountainous terrain. There's a lot to be said for prolonged silence....and the absence of train whistles, cars passing by, and bad muzak in the white noise that has blanketed our world like a slow rolling fog.
Thanks for sharing!

What beautiful scenery. Is this in MT Duane? I love how you've captured near and far here - the huge trees and shadow in the foreground, and the tiny, pinpoints for trees on top of the mountain in the distance! Great contrast. A truly grand day on the mountain!

Composition, colour, focus, depth, shadows, serenity. This one has it all Duane, and beautiful words to boot. The words sound a little Native American'ish??? PAUL
