Default Red, spotty & deadly!

Poisonous Toadstool

Took this toadstool today that was growing on top of an old grave in a churchyard. Couldn't resist snapping it. Hope you enjoy it?

Toadstool

Thanks for looking.

Such a sharp, crisp shot. From the title I thought it was going to be a teenager!

My apologies for correcting you, Glyn, but that mushroom is not deadly. It is a halucinogen, therefore it's listed as poisonous. It will cause deliriums and excess sweating, but it will not kill you. It is an Amanita Muscaria, more commonly known as Fly Agaric so called because when mixed in milk it will stupefy houseflies.
If one is seeking a psychedelic high, it is best, as with all wild mushrooms, to positively identify it before ingestion.
Class dismissed.

Cheers Grampa D, no problem correcting me, I have today learnt something, never tried ingesting any mushrooms myself, dont even like the ones from the shops, I enjoyed your description though, seems it must be a subject you enjoy.

I'm sure the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland is just around the corner -- what a wonderful perch this would be for him. Beautiful photo!
