A short history of the Clyde Lighthouses Trust describes Cloch lighthose as follows;
A white tower with a black band, 76 feet high with the focal plane 76 feet above High Water, showing a white single flashing light having the characteristic of 1 flash every 5 seconds. The effective intensity of the light is about 40,000 candlepower and the geographical range in clear weather is 14 miles.
Secret Scotland - Cloch Lighthouse

I just think its great and beautifully captured Bill

Hi Bill. I was reading Steve's comment, and followed the link to get the whole story. That is one big lighthouse. Nice capture of it.

Thanks Hayward, it was a dull day, so I was happy the way it turned out.

Thanks Steve, I don`t think they use the lighthouse any more. It was always a landmark when we passed on the boat going to one of the islands in the Firth of Clyde

This is the closest lighthouse to me and one that I had never taken a picture of, until now.

Yea...I get to comment twice. Now I understand the curtains in the window. That seemed really odd for a lighthouse but not for someone wants to keep the sun out in the morning. Who gets to live in a lighthouse? I suppose someone with more money than God. As previously mentioned, I really like color shots that are just a hair away from being BW. It gives your photo such a cool--literal--quality. PS In two weeks I'm going back to the Redwood forest to watch Soleil. Remember the High Noon Train Station? There. Can't wait!

The lighthouse is wonderful, but I really love the clouds behind it. Just beautiful!

Thanks Linda, looking forward to seeing the trees and the train station, now how did that song go again?
