Default Two birds and coloured jewels of the sea

Two Oystercatchers braving the rough surf.

Rainbow colours in the seafoam.

Rainbow colours in seafoam

Unfortunately I had the polarize filter turned the wrong way on these shots and the sky is blown out.

I didn't notice the light spray marks on the lens before I took this photo, but I still like it.

Mussels growing in the rock pools at Port Waikato, NZ

Hope you enjoyed these.

Good grief..look at all of those oyster shells! That surf is the first time I think any of you New Zealanders have posted it this way....most shots I see are of fairly tranquil and colorful water....now we see the other side!

Angela, These are all wonderful shots. I got waylaid by the cloud reflected in the foreground of your third photo. That is just a wonderful addition to that shot. There's already so much rich texture and then to discover the cloud "floating" in the tidepool...that is just lovely!

Well done Angela - sounds like Patrick wants to see some rough seas - no worries, next storm in Wellington I will be out there.

Great shots - I like them all and especially the last one where you can see that the tide is out and the smoothness of the rocks when high tide is in. I see you now have a polized filter - great purchase but we need to remember to rotate it when taking fotos. I did likewise when I first got mine but will use it more once the sun finally comes out. Cheers, Bernz

I really like all of these pictures, including the ones that you say the sky is blown. One thought about picture number three...have you considered just replacing the sky with one from another photo using photoshop? Its a beautiful picture as it stands, but that would take care of the blown sky.

I enjoyed them immensely Angela. No 1 is my fav with the raging surf and those two, cool as a cucumber oystercatchers on their home ground. Perfect. Thanks. PAUL

Thanks Tom, I have element 5 but don't use it too often.
