Default First post.. Still learning!

Hi all! Just joined but have been receiving the weekly emails for several months now! Want to learn all I can. I snap photos of EVERYTHING! My kids and husband get quite annoyed with me sometimes! I definitely have a hang up for B&W's, just can't seem to get away from them! Would love some pointers and critiquing!! Thanks!

Hi, I think the shot would work better if the focus was on the fingers. After all the fingers make the piano work. I like the black background. Nice shot.

I like nr 1 more then nr 2.The focus seems to be mucch better in nr 1 than 2.Outstanding series of pictures captured by you.

Thank you!! I did attempt a few other shots that were focused on the fingers, but he was moving them! Like I said I am still learning, but we are going to set up this same scenario again for more photos!! I will work more on the focusing!! Thank you again!

welcome, mom....

i moved your thread over to the share your shots section where it makes for a better fit......critique allows for only one image and you must supply your exif and a question or two.....share your shots is laxer and allows for up to four images......but no detailed critique.....

take a minute to review the faq's so that you'll have all your ducks in a row for your next thread.....i get the feeling you'll enjoy it here and we'll be seeing more of your creative work.....

have fun....

Welcome to dps, if you want to learn and make friends at the same time you came to he right place. I like your 1st shot it has good lighting, contrast, composition and also has some DoF to it. You can almost hear the piano. Good job
