Default First trip along this railway line in over 50 years!

These shots were taken the other weekend, a work colleague of mine has been restoring this track for over 5 years. Finally they have a steam train running on it, its the start of the old potts line to Stoke from Nant Mawr. The train itself was built in 1879. The guard is my colleague.

I know this one is a little out of focus but I kinda liked it, it gives a sense of speed.

Thanks for looking

Oh, I do love old steam trains. The first one is my favorite, I think -- somehow the darkness of the photo with the puffs of steam is very appealing to me.

What a beautiful old train. I love the middle photo with its vibrant red. I can almost hear the steam whistle.

They're brilliant! And I love the action blur - his left hand/arm are perfectly in focus, but it progressively blurs out from there - really adds great effect to the shot.
