Default Western Tibet

Hi all,

I wish I had more time to participate online here, I have had many deadlines to meet over the last few months, hopefully things will settle down. I finished writing an article for my blog and posted it yesterday, it tells of the journey we made to Mt Kailash to photograph the Milky Way over the peak in September.

Here is the link:

Kailash

Please feel free to make any comments or ask any questions there and I will be happy to reply..

Best wishes from SW China...

Great work in combining these images in pp.

The detail and colour in the star shot is outstanding - would you care to share how you shot it?

This is a single frame: 20s @ f2.8 @ 2000 ISO. The D700 is outstanding in low light.

Stunning shot. I particularly like the framing from the dark mtns/hills in the foreground.

My apologies - the exposure of the sky and mountain are both just too perfect

To get this from a single exposure makes the photograph even more exceptional.
