Hi JBlackwell, your shots are really amazing. I am new in photography... and just recently i bought my new nikon D60.. I love photographying newborns and toddlers but I'm having problems when I remove the flash i get blurry pictures everytime they move... can you give me tips on how to take photos of newborns without the flash but without making blurry pictures.

I have that same issue with the blurry-ness when turning off the flash. You just have to either hope they don't move, or use the flash and worry about shadows. Funny you ask, because I've been dealing with that issue as well. Hopefully someone will read this question and help us both out on it. Thanks for bringing it up!

I am new to the board and haven't fully set up my profile and such but do a lot of family and children photography and when I am shooting newborns and little kids that are prone to movement I bring my flash way down so it isn't as bright on their faces and tends to bring a softer finish. I also do everything I can to bring in enough natural lighting through windows and such so that the shutter speed is faster. With newborns it is so easy to do their pictures anywhere, some cushions, blankets and props(if wanted) on a dining room table works wonderfully!
