Default NEW ASHMOLEAN PART 6 yawn!!!

Hi all
This is the home service.......weather very windy and light drizzle expected, so what else is new??. No way am i staying in and with a giant organic bacon sandwich and two cups of columbian coffee i was off. First i had to visit George and Felix(you remember the kitten!!).I left the hearse in the car park and after a chat with them headed off into town, man that cat has grown.I had to take a shot of an old painted brick sign for a ghost sign flickr group, so with that done headed for the museum lol!!.Then i remebered the book sale at Borders with 50% off nice!!. I couldnt believe i saw the book i had been wanting for so long, when i grabbed it and got to the counter i was told there was a mistake, there was 70% off more nice!!. So a £35 book for £10.50 was ok with me, sometimes just sometimes i get lucky!!.
So all you b/w lovers who dont have a copy of Jim McCullens 'In England' get one if you can.The Ashmo (and i cant spell it for laughing now Nicky) was hectic with intruder alarms going off and mad people. One crazy guy was pushing it with a female attendant and it was getting very awkward. As i was chatting to yuriko a japanese VSA, a woman with a baby in a pram came arounf the corner and garbled something in English and gave me a V sign, she shot off around the back out of sight. I have no idea what is going on today but hey lets take some photos lol!!
I waited for this guy to move closer to the Busts whilst on the ground floor and got him right where i wanted him, in colour and later in sepia ta!!. The second is a ceramic vase detail. The third, another angle on a statue i did previously but it looks like hes having a really good read . And the fourth was in the museum labratory exhibit. Its a touch box with three materials, glass, metal and wood. The idea is to calculate over a period of time the deterioration of the materials from sweat and any other things we happen to give off. Its a bit of an odd one but you must know me by now lol!!
thanks and bye

Dedicated to Jennie as i know she likes a good read before bed time lol!
mike

Ps Does this new size restriction suck or is it just me???

Hey Mike,
As always, nice set! Love the new perspective on the 3rd shot. Concerning the 4th, I keep touching my screen, as instructed, but nothing happens. Please advise.

Aaron

Its basically saying that artifacts deteriorate from the the human touch and from the chemicals we give off mainly sweat. Everytime one of the materials is touched the number goes up on the clock, it could be a hell of a time to wait lol!.I just thought it was a mad experiment and its great to have some tactile stuff going on in the museum.
hey i was the 32,652 idiot to have touched it, cool!

I was referring to the 800 down to 750 on the longest side of photos.
cheers

Oh, now we have "Ashmo Man" too! Is he married to "Ashmo Woman"? Do they share the same superpowers?

Oh, sorry, your photos are kind of great by the way too....got a bit sidetracked by AshmoMan.

Hahaha..this is what I get for asking your people stories..this is certainly a good read.. (next time I will be more careful in asking lest the moderators will put some limit to our description of pictures..that would really suck..lol..)

I don’t even know where to start..there are too many images that are popping in my mind right now..so I am going to give you a rundown:

- i miss Felix..he hasn’t clawed out George eyes by now?
- a good book with a great discount would certainly give me euphoria..
- you should have taken a photo of that crazy guy pushing it with a female attendant (oh my! That was you! Haha)
- you are such a stalker but great capture with the guy and the bust..(i see some similarity in there..)
- I wonder what that guy is reading..he was so deep in thought...he is still interested in that stuff? he’s been reading that for centuries..duh?
- ah the touch box..my first thought was it’s a countdown till the end of the world (how morbid).. I guess they need to do that in order to protect the museum from crazy people (and also count how many are there in the world..which includes you..yeah..i’ll push that one too..three times..)

Tnx Mike! This is just superb..
