Default Coimbra old town-details.

Coimbra was the first capital of Portugal during the 12th century. It also houses Coimbra University-founded in 1290 in Lisbon and transferred to Coimbra in 1308.The old town can be explored by climbing up and up narrow stairs criss-crossed by cobbled streets. The Portuguese take their cars at break neck speed but I preferred the walk.

I took a walk all around the University square, right at the top of the old town, and found huge wooden doors, windows and door furniture. It's always the details!

Fabulous shots. I like the first shot. That door looks really heavy to open.

Hi Hayward! It's a lovely city to explore-the first view is from across the Mondego river that runs through the middle. Thanks for the nice comments.

these are great shots. I particularly like the detail on the old door. It is really great seeing around the world through the lens of our DPS members. Thanks for sharing.
