Thumbs up my first roll of B&W Film (KODAK BW400CN)

i just got a roll of film developed that i stuffed in to my Nikon F-601 + 28-85mm Macro ...which i got for a song.

camera, 2 lenses and sb24 with carry bag
(28-85mm and 75-300)
= NZ$200

buying and developing one roll of b/w film ? = $55.00

and this is the cheapest b/w i could find !

i shot 100% manual exposure, and most of the time manual focus too. so i'm fairly happy with what i got. but i'll try harder next time.

heres my favourites

BW400CN Film

BW400CN Film

BW400CN Film

BW400CN Kodak FILM

plenty more on my photostream.. soo hard to choose the FAV. 4 tho' !

Very nice set of shots, and some great ones on your flickr site also. Careful shooting film or you'll find yourself doing like us old timers used to do and setting up a darkroom to develop. Ah, but what fun it was.

Jared, I am so jealous. I used to use film. Take 24 exposures. Throw 22 of them away. Wow, yours are perfect. I love your son's expression in number three, his amazing eyes in shot one and the clearn sharp edges and simple compositions of your other two shots. Processing is a little pricey but sure worth the results. Nice work!

That's a bummer it cost so much. And that film isn't even true B/W film. It's made for color processing and doesn't ahve the greatest contrast at all. but its a good replacement for a quick fix.
It's only about 4 -5$ here in America to buy, and only about 6-7$ to develop. It's the true B/W film thats getting expesive to develop. Actually we all used to get our film developed but since the digital revolution, Chemical Processing has become "Rare" or expensive. Which sucks because I would like to get alot of my stuff printed but it's expensive now. Unless you do it yourself.

Hi
i did the same a few weeks back having four old pentax film cameras and only one working, still i managed to roll off a film but black and whiet film is hard to come by in the shops and could only get 400 asa. I could have waited and ordered on the internet but i was just itching to get out there. I under exposed on most of them but they came out very washey but it was fun all the same. I agree with Dark above prices of developing vary so much, i think it cost me £12 in all.
Anyway your shots came out great adn enjoyed looking at them
have fun
mike

They are all really well done Jared, but I really love the two compositions of the kid. Those are really special.
