Default Belated tribute to our Veterans

You might call this a belated honorary post for our veterans of foreign wars. On a tour of the cemetery near my workplace, I saw many American flags posted at the gravesites of military personnel.......Although these men survived the conflicts and returned home, I wanted to use this post to once again take pause to thank those who put their lives in harms way to keep us safe, be they our military, our police....and our favorite policeman, Beachcomber, our firefighters, our EMS personnel......whomever stands between a source of danger and the population they serve. The following set has WW1, WW2, Korean Vets and the last is an unknown soldier......I'll let the last one commemorate all those who serve us but are not military........

Wow, Patrick! Very nice tribute. Veterans Day is always a special day for me as I spent 20 years serving in the U.S. Navy. I went in in the tail end of Viet Nam and got out right after operation Desert Storm. I always consider myself blessed to have made it home safely after each and every deployment. Thanks for sharing these.

We are eternally grateful to our family members, our friends, and other heroes everywhere, surviving or fallen, who are the few who freely give and gave so much, we salute and will always remember you.
A first class tribute Patrick, thank you.

And we thank our Vets too for keeping rabies and the mad cow far from us!

You must be about 15 years older than me. Saw some action on both ends of your career. That is probably a bit unusual. Indeed you are blessed to have made it home safely and thank you for your many years of service

Thanks for these, Patrick. Definitely striking a chord with me after having recently visited Arlington Cemetery. Thank a vet, everyone, next time you see one! There's no 'belated,' Patrick. It's always a good time pay tribute to a vet!! TFS
