Here is a fake HDR I created using single JPG,
though it does not look anything like a HDR image the details however are amazingly enhanced using these techniques.. this was my first attempt, so HDR experts please excuse me :-D for calling it so... . . . . . After... ![]() Before... Cooked some fresh one's in my kitchen, i can't really say which one i like better.. ![]() slightly overdone.... could not stop experimenting... the detail that comes out is simply amazing. ![]() Here are older threads from this series... http://digital-photography-school.co...rama-shot.html http://digital-photography-school.co...ird-shots.html http://digital-photography-school.co...ke-louise.html http://digital-photography-school.co...ooms-snow.html http://digital-photography-school.co...-moutains.html Last edited by atulsc; 11-18-2009 at 09:39 AM. |

I dont know that I'm an expert but I do get the exact same effect from one , three or five bracketed exposures ( check out my Flickr) adding more contrast and shadow in post will help to give the depth you need to get good HDR'ish effects . This is a cool shot and no excusing is neccessary , we all do our own thing with the tools available and call it art , no problem there . Cheers .

AC, I think this looks pretty good. It definitely brought out the color and highlights in the trees when compared to the original. I believe true HDR for most of us is not viewable with the monitors most of us have any way.

In very few words this is what i did Software: Photomatix Pro 3.2 Trial version - To play with all the HDR sliders - Opened 2 copies of the same image (JPG shot with my D60) Photoshop CS4 Trial - For Some more enhacements and corrections - Combined the original and result of Photomatix HDR as told by the stuck in customs tutorial - Made some correction in Camera Raw mode - Made the people disappear - forgot to remove the girl from the original image ![]() - Did some cheating and removed the watermarks put by Photomatix trial version Tutorial: For most part I used HDR Tutorial | High Dynamic Range Tutorial then i could not follow every instruction in this tutorial so i looked up as many tutorials as i could find to make sense of what i'm supposed to do. Worked through it only with one jpg image Quote:

Just as a small side note , look into the Topaz Filter plugins for PS , they are amazing for HDR post work.
