Default Sunset Reflection - Flecting on roof of my car!

Hi All,

Not so long ago I was driving around Norfolk and was desperate to find somewhere to pull in to get a shot of the sunset. I had a new point and shoot in the glove box. I managed to find a "track", high banked dirt road to pull in. Needing to steady the camera in low light, I chose the manual/low light setting on the camera and used the timer and place the camera in the roof of my car... The car roof reflected the sunset producing the following image. My car roof was a little mucky, so I have cloned out and conciderable amount speckles and have adjusted the colour slightly...

Wow, that's fantastic! I'd never have guessed that reflection was from your car roof, it's magnificent.

I think I may have to change out my point & shoot - it's a Nikon Coolpix & although a great camera, it's too small. Even though I only have small hands, I find it difficult to manouevre the buttons properly while holding it steady, so more times than not I end up with a lot of blur from camera shake. No room for changing settings either. Maybe Father Christmas will help me out this year :-)

Thanks Sox, I had my Canon 30D in the boot, I wished i'd have used that... But then I might not have got the reflection... My P&S is a Fuji finepix something... Not bad, i'd bought it in a sale a couple of weeks before going to Norfolk.

Your hard work paid off, because the reflection in the roof really makes the shot.

Default Very Cool.

Your unintended capture may become someones next experiment (mine). Thanks for sharing the photo.

The car's a bit of a large tripod (4 legged tripod? Quadropod?) to carry around, but does the job... Glad to inspire, even if by mistake... Let me know how you get on using the CarPod...
