Default The Eyes Told the Story

These are the last photos of the Dias de los Muertos Parade. I found this second photo of the woman with the haunting eyes and liked it even better than my first photo I posted of her. The paint conceals but the eyes reveal.

I really like the second one. Its as though you can see her through all the make-up.

Linda, I loved the first when I saw it, but in that second one her eyes go right through me. You've captured such a powerful gaze! Amazing how her eyes stand out so beautifully, even with all the makeup.

Deep wells of life
Reflecting the inner soul
Cannot be denied
Thwarting death's goal

Body lies cold and still
Loved ones mourn the waste
God's spirit ever lives
Safe in His arms of grace
~Mike~

I've enjoyed this series immensely.....

You know what I like? I like that I was bold enough to ask her to pose for me. It took everything I had to ask but then she struck this cool pose.

Here it is in color. And Susan, she was posing for another photographer, so I just took advantage of the moment. I'm finally getting it, though. If you don't get a good shot of the eyes, the photo will be found lacking. See...I'm learning from you!

Wonderful shots Linda. I find the BW especially nice. And you're right.... her eyes reveal a lot.
