This is an amazing tree. It stands 41mtrs (133.58ft) tall, measures 9mtrs (30ft) around the trunk, and it's volume of timber is a staggering 69.8m3

Quite interesting Pauline. At first I thought the square was a concrete pillar! Enjoyed the entire set, but the seagull looking back is my favorite.

I remember well the drive along that windy road to get to Waiau Falls, but as your picture shows so well - it was worth it. The '309' is a fun road & includes Waiau Waterworks that has been featured on this forum.
