Default For Steve: Beach B&W's

I know that some of you are going to go, "Oh no, not another set of beach shots!", but I have to do it. A couple from Chesterman Beach and Wikininish Beach areas. I thought about Steve a lot as I was taking photos, and since I have had little success with gulls in flight, I thought I would at least post gulls in the surf! Thanks for looking.

Wikininish Beach & Lodge (on the rocky point) The Wikininish Lodge is pricey. Rooms start at about $250 per night and went as high as $950 per night. We did not stay there, but we checked it out inside...Very nice! (just out of our price range) Mary, my wife, and her best friend Pam are in the background.
Wikininish Beach

Wikininish Beach area (seagull included)
Wikininish Beach-2

Chesterman Beach (Seagull included as well!)
Chesterman Beach

Chesterman Beach 2 (A dog's favorite place to have fun. The poor owners kept kicking the ball up the beach in the hopes to tire out their companion, but it did not phase that pooch!))

Stunning yet again Paul! Yes, we're all thinking "Oh no, not more beach shots...." and at the same time we can't wait to get in here! Hehe. I think we often tire of our own shots a million times more quickly than others do. These are a treat, Steve will adore them. I love the lines and patterns in the sand and those made by the waves too.

Thanks Nicky. I hope Steve likes them...What am I saying! I know he will appreciate them. He has probably been the most influential in terms of guidance in mt growth as a photographer. He is one in a million.

Thank you Ian. I thought they were3 perfect for B&W. All those tonal and textural qualities offered by beach scenes. Cheers, mate.

Very nice, Paul. I like that second one. There are no humans in it...the sand looks like velvet, and the undulations in the sand really converted to b/w very well. All are well done, though! I'm trying to get to the point where I don't boost something when I convert. Maybe this'll be the catalyst to me trying.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jim. The sand looks that way because there was a very thin layer of water on it from a wave that had washed up just prior to my taking that photo. I totally see what you mean, though. I was having fun trying to frame the undulations on a angle to make the shot a little more dynamic in nature. I played with the shot a little in post, but not very much. Cheers, and thanks again for the website info the other night.

Thanks Ruthie Mae. Nothing compared to what you post, though. Cheers.

Great set of B & Ws Paul. I love the wave / tide lines in the sand, especially on the first two.
