Default First attempt at statues and colorization.

Here's a new one... Taken at Glenwood Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. It's the resting place of the who's who, of Flint and the auto industry.

There are a TON of historical influental figures in that place!

Anyway, I was inspired by some many of the members here, and Flickr to try and capture the detail of and expressions of statues. This is one that I took today despite my fever... lol

Seeing as I SUCK at photo editing, I wasn't able to fully achieve what I wanted, which is selective color (black and white background) while enhancing the statue color, which I did to the best of my ability, minus black and white. Obviously.

Anyway, my trials exprired for Elements 8, and Paintshop Pro, so I've purchased copies and I'm waiting on their arrival.

This was done in GIMP 2.0

Of course, comments and or suggestions are welcome.

I like it this way but if you want to try the B&W, I noticed you have a flickr account. You can try the edit using picnik for free and it's not that hard.

Open edit. Go to create and effects. In effects you will find B&W. Change that whole shot Black and white then use the brush to paint back the statue in color. Hope that made sense.

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't even know Flickr had an editor.
