Default I got a new lens (& went bokeh crazy!)

I just got me an Olympus OM 50 f/1.8 and adapter for my Oly DSLR. Love it, love it, love it! And for only £20 from ebay you can't really go wrong.

My (Lego) Enzo

Bottled Bokeh

Cliched!

Cool shots, it looks like you're having fun with your new toy. I'd have to say the wine bottle is my favorite, it looks festive.

Hi Christi, here's a definition from Wikpedia:
Bokeh - Wikipedia

I didn't know either until I saw the bokeh assignment on DPS!

Two thirds of a stop on the max. aperture, slightly larger, and slightly better image quality with the f/1.4 is what I hear. Also more expensive. The f/1.2 is even bigger and more expensive, but not as sharp as the 1.4 wide open (but then, what f/1.2 lens is?).

What I love about the Oly OM 50/1.8, though, is that it's nearly a pancake, it's so tiny. Great lens to slap onto a Canon EOS body with an adapter ring.

Not just a little bit more expensive though, the f/1.4 is 4 times the price of the f/1.8.

When you consider there is virtually no difference in sharpness when stopped down to f/2.8 and that it is almost impossible to focus accurately at f/1.4 on a manual focus lens with a crappy DSLR viewfinder I think the f/1.8 is all you really need.
