Default Home on the Range - Some Old Ones

Well, I promised myself I wouldn't pick up a camera today, because I have a ton of stuff to do, but I couldn't help posting something. So, I dug up a few old (FILM) photos from when we lived in Wyoming. The first two I took on a very cold November day in 1997 - I was trying to capture cold! It was a ranch in Shirley Basin, between Casper and Laramie, if that means anything to anyone. I'm pretty sure I shot them on Fuji 800, because they are color prints and that's the film the newspaper used. The train was my first b/w darkroom attempt. And my last. Just because we moved soon after and sold all the darkroom stuff. And the last was shot on Velvia - I loved going out into the oil fields and shooting all the painted pump jacks.

It was fun for me to go down memory lane with these, so I hope you enjoy. And find a little humor in EARLY photographs from me (read: could have been composed better! LOL!) - all shot with my trusty little Nikon EM and a 50mm manual focus lens!

Lovely images Martha! I really like them all but the darkroom train shot really draws me in especially. I presume you just photographed your photos to upload them?

Thanks, Nicky! Yes, I did photograph them - which I suppose is technically picking up a camera, but does not seem the same as going out to shoot something new

A good selection of pictures Martha and I particularly like the train carriages.
I like the angle of the shot, the composition and the colour treatment, that together with the excellent light and shade enhances the moody and feeling of manace that thie image gives off

Thanks, Beach, that's a mouthful! I did a lot of different darkroom prints, but that was the final. There was a lot of burning and dodging involved!
