Default delicate wild orchids

Hi everyone, I thought I might share with you some of our lovely Western Australian wild orchids. Very different from your cultivated kind, there are many varieties, dependant on the location. Some of them you have to look very carefully to find and only have a short flowering life. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for looking

This is the Queen of Sheba orchid - one of the most stunning varieties in WA. This one was found near Bunbury.....

This is the Crimson Spider Orchid which we found at Yilliminning Rock near Narrogin.....

This is the Donkey Orchid. There are many varieties and I found this one in a small patch of bush near my home.....

The Blue Lady Orchid, also found near Bunbury....

Beautiful orchids, Jill. It's so alien to me that flowers like this really DO grow in the wild. What a difference a hemisphere makes! Thanks for sharing these beauties!

thank you everyone for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed the set. They are just a small sample of the stunning native wild orchids we have here in Australia. It really is a delight to find one when we go bush walking, and to be able to tick off another variety found.

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone. I really appreciate it.

Great set of photos Jill, I really like the Queen of Sheba.
What most people will not realise is the harsh environment you find these little jewels growing.
