Hi folks
I am a new member (I mean like bought a camera on saturday and took my first photos on sunday new!!) So here I am posting my first efforts and I hope some of you guys will give me your opinion and tell me where I am going wrong. Looking forward to your comments (be gentle with me) Jim

Welcome to DPS. You have a beautiful set of photos. Are you sure this is your first day out?
![]() One suggestion (and not everyone will agree with this): on the first shot, beautiful as it stands, if you lower the camera slightly to remove all of the sky, I think the effect would be really great. You can also accomplish this by cropping the sky out in post processing. One great photographer, Elliot Porter, took essentially all of his photos without sky. I do NOT agree with this point of view, but I do think that your photo #1 really lends itself to that technique. Used selectively, his no sky approach can be quite exceptional.
