A lovely B&W! Has a nice mysterious feel to it. Great shadow.

That is a righteous shot, Michelle! What a great introduction to DPS!! With a 50mm, you managed to excel on so many different levels....great shallow DOF, stunning b/w, extraordinary bokeh, all while being very well composed. One of the best "first" posts I've seen here!!

Thanks for sharing!

Wow everyone, thank you, I am absolutely humbled.
I lurked here for months before joining and was a bit leary about posting a shot here because I didn't feel my work was up to snuff with the rest of the professionals here.
I have learned so much from this site, actually everything I know about photography thus far. THANK YOU to all the contributors and members of this site, I am constantly inspired by all of you!

Simplicirty - that is how I described this image. You did a great job playing with the DOF and the B&W comversion makes iy more dramatic. Nicely done.

Welcome to DPS!

cheers.
