Default Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom

Baguio City, Philippines – I took these last last year with my old P&S Kodak at the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City (the summer capital of the Philippines). Panagbenga means “season of bloom”. I spent my college years in Baguio City and I’ve witnessed this celebration every year. The festival is all month long (February) culminated by street and float parade. There were also food, night markets and rock bands along the roads..hope you enjoy these as much as I did..

These are fabulous colourful shots. That is a parade I'd love to watch, it must have taken hours and hours to make these wonderful floats.

Gorgeous colours, Jennie. I could have a slice of that cake! And, yes, if people stick bits of their body into your frame, chop them off! Croposition is the polite way of doing it, but some people just cry out for a chainsaw.

Thanks for sharing.

The day that Panagbenga it came to town, local folks lined the streets in Baguio town, waiting anxiously for the parade to begin all around, let a thousand flowers bloom
A unicorn headed the mystical way surrounded by what seemed a thousand golden angels at play, behind were centaurs, elves, bright fairies all in colours of jade, let a thousand flowers bloom

I like them Jennie, you've captured carnival, bright and cheerful on a dull dank November morning, but are those umbrellas for the sun or for rain
