Default Guitar Photoshoot

Hello everyone! I'm new to these forums, but would like to share a shot I took yesterday. My friend got a contract with a guitar company, and they needed a photo of her for their website, so she recruited me to take it. Tell me what you think of these two photos form the shoot. Do you prefer the first or the second? Thanks!

If it is between the two, I prefer the first. I think that I would actually crop the second down to be close to the first without cutting off the top of the machine head and her elbow though, It would be a compromise between the two.

I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of reworking the second image to show you what I mean.

Thank you! I do like the crop- I was a bit afraid to crop it because I felt like I would lose some of the sky and the fall-ish qualities of the leaves, but it looks very nice!

After I did the crop, I was thinking .... How would it look with an edge vignette added to it? I think this would help draw the focus on the subject but not lose any of the fall feel. You might want to try that as well.

I love the composition it leaves so many options for post processing without removing from the image.

Well taken.

Do you think that the edge vignette would maybe take away from the cleanness/sharpness of the image though?

I am not sure, but I don't think it would take away anything. You can always try it and if you don't like it then nothing lost.

The crop on the second image is good but one thing you should remember crop it when you take your shot and there will be less work in post processing. On the first one I would have gotten the whole guitar after all it is a guitar add.
