Default Hummingbirds for Linda (aka Lindyannajones)

I think I'm right on the border of 24 hours between posts, but I couldn't wait to share these with my friends on DPS, and tell of the wonderful lunch experience today!!!

...so, I'm having lunch with this gorgeous lady today in Tucson. Some of you may know her as LindyAnnaJones!! She's such a sweetheart!! Unfortunately, our time was limited, but it was an hour well spent in the lunch garden with this lovely flower!! Thanks, Linda!!

Before she got there, I took a stroll through the hummingbird garden, and was able to steal a few of these shots away!! This first one was literally the first click of the day, and also the first shot ever for me of a hummingbird! I was stunned when I saw it in the camera, and couldn't wait to see it on the big screen! Thanks for looking!!

hbird1 (1 of 1)

hbird4 (1 of 1)

hbird3 (1 of 1)

hbird2 (1 of 1)

...all were taken with a D3, SB-900, Nikkor 105 Micro, auto ISO (accidentally!) at 1/8000th sec

Thanks for looking!!! You would do well to make Linda your friend!!!

Sounds like ya had a great time Jim ! excellent company , I mean who gets to eat lunch with hummingbirds? and if Linda didn't interupt your lunch you could have gotten even more shots of them !!

and I'm only kidding ( what a great lady to share an hour with )... but the shots are excellent, VERY difficult to get them clear ( they dart back and forth so fast ) .. I've only gotten a few keepers of them myself and know how hard it can be . great job !

All nice, bright shots. The first one is interesting because the bokeh almost perfectly halos the main elements in the photograph.

I wish I could have lunch with her.......and you ....and leona and angella and all you Arizona people......Terrific shot of the hummingbird.......My camera is not capable of that fast a shutter speed so I just can't get those shots.......When you upgrade your camera, let me know and I will e-mail you my mailing address....I'll pay for shipping!

JIm, Wasn't it fun to meet? You are such a dear man. I have an idea. Let's plan a lunch for February and just invite all our friends from around the globe? Any takers? You know...an intimate lunch for 50.
I feel so honored to get to see that first shot while still in the camera. Enlarged, it is just over the moon good. But then, look at these other shots! Wow! Very nice work! (Off to Santa Barbara!)
