Default Garden

Hey everybody! I am by all intensive purposes at the very beginning of the learning stages. These are a few shots I took last Spring. I am here to learn so please feel free to critique!

Hi Tara, I think my main comment would be in the first two to remember the "rule of thirds" and to not place your main subject in the middle of the frame. Ofsetting the subject creates a more interesting picture. The second one would have been better perhaps zoomed in more on the little girls face perhaps... or seeing the person giving her the piece of fruit. The 4th one lacks I think an idea of what the main subject of the photo is.
Anyway, hope that helps, and that you enjoy DPS - I have since I joined a few weeks ago.

I think the colors are great. Very vivid (especially the first two). I would try some different angles and experiment - a lot. For example, instead of shooting the flower from above, get closer - get under it - try different angles. Anyway, welcome to DPS.

WELCOME to DPS Tara
The passionflower is beautiful...the color and lighting is wonderful...I agree with the rule of thirds comment.
I really like the others as well...I would crop the little girl though to show her better, but put most of the space in front of her rather than behind. Just my opinion
