Default A Kentucky sunset, a religious experience

On the way home, I noticed that it was going to be a cloudless sunset which tend to be nice but sometimes a bit boring on our relatively flat landscape.....so I took another road home which goes by a little country church, Salem Presbyterian Church built in 1787.....very old in our parts. The sun always sets on this church and most directly so in the Fall and Winter months. And so in the ten minutes or so I was there, I'd like to show you what I saw.....

Welcome to Salem, the sun is going down

The front doors look formal and yet inviting with the sun's rays bathing them

Ahh, for some mental stimulation.....I am shooting through a window through the church out the window on the other side catching twilight colors and catching the immediate reflection behind me of trees and a home. If you look carefully along the bottom of the frame, you will see the tops of wooden pews inside the church.

Aaaah......a wonderful moment contemplating the wonder of what God has made for our enjoyment....I find myself thankful.

DSC_5979

It was a long day at work but I have seen the glory of God and I am satisfied and content

Wow I'm impressed especially with the doors. The lighting in this photo is excellent, you don't need classes at all.

Wow Patrick, what a wonderfully inspiring post. The shots are wonderful...my faves being the close up of the door...and the sun through the trees. Beautiful. Thanks for showing me that on this somber day that God is still in the details.

Very nice, Patrick. these are great. I noticed there were some runs on the door paint. Do you suppose someone at Lowe's could help them with that?
