Default My tribute to Veteran's Day..

These shots aren't very good as they come out of a scrapbook....but I want to share them anyway. Happy Veteran's Day to those who served and serve now

Sgt. Benjamin W Biskie KIA December 24, 2003

Family & Friends

Mercy to the vanquished is the brightest gem in a soldier's character...
Ben was rebuilding schools in his spare time....he loved the kids...

Family & Friends

Ben's last visit home 2 months before he was killed and the last time he saw his son....

Family & Friends

And this speaks for itself....

Miscellaneous

Thanks to those who have sent their best wishes before....this post, although focusing on my son...is a tribute to all veterans...past and present...including my own father, who passed two weeks after Ben.

I cannot even begin to contemplate the pain, suffering and feeling of loss you must have endured over the death of Ben...it's an heart-breaking situation. I salute Ben for his courage, bravery and service...and yourself for having the strength to create this post.

Default From all of us Vets.

Thanks Leona,

I served in the Gulf War (1991). My heart is saddened when I think of those who lost there lives serving this great cause of Democracy to free those who are oppressed. May those of us who have survived persevere to see that there sacrifice is not in vain.

May God bless you and your family and May your grandson grow up knowing that his dad is a hero, not only in his heart, but in all our hearts.

An amazing testament to Ben's character. It wasn't enough that he was fighting for freedom in a foreign land, he continued to give of himself to the people there.

It takes a special person to stand in the gap for others. A fitting tribute and a reminder that we all need to thank our veterans for their service. Thank you Leona.
