Hi everyone, thought I would share with you some pics from the Australian bush, which I took at the Dryandra Nature Reserve, near Narrogin, in the Western Australian wheatbelt.
Hope you like them, and I look forward to your comments. Bobtail goanna - taken just before he spat at me!
Close up of echidna quills
Kangaroo and joey
"Never smile at a crocodile....don't be taken in by his welcome grin, he's imagining how well you'll fit within his skin!" - but I think he is smiling at ME! No this one wasn't at Dryandra, this one is a Windjana Gorge in the Kimberely - one of the prime freshwater crocodile viewing areas in Western Australia.

thanks everyone for your comments about my animals. The freshwater croc is not reputed to be dangerous - not like the salt water croc - you wouldn't want to get this close to him! Though I wouldn't get in the way of a freshie either - you wouldn't want to go swimming with them.
The movie Australia had mixed reviews - but the scenery was beautiful - and the movie was very "old Australian" and representative of many things Australian.(Perhaps overseas audiences didn't understand our culture) We are blessed with spectacular scenery, gorgeous wildflowers, wide open spaces, room to move, and unique creatures. Our diverse cultures makes it an interesting mixing pot.

Those are all really nice shots. I love the echinacea quills - aren't they awesome up close? And your crocodile is great - I like the composition, they way his head is part of the sand line.

A set of superb shots Jill, the sharp focus of the goanna is awesome. Great close up shot of the echidna quills, they look sharp. The joey tucked in its mum's pouch looks so cute. I'm glad I'm admiring the toothy grin of the croc from afar. TFS these great shots of a place I love to visit and can't wait to go back to.
