Default Gators by request

In a previous post "Selective color_first attempt" equilution, in his comment, suggested that I post a photo of an alligator. OK, Jim, you asked for it...you got it.

The first one was taken sometime in the past with a point and shoot Nikon CoolPix. I've lost the data from it, but I decided to include the picture. Because I shot him from above, I was able to get closer than with the other photos.

Gator from above:

Gator from above

Next is another older picture taken from a boat at Mayaka State Park in Florida. It was shot with a Kodak Easy Share Z650. ISO 80, f 3.7 at 1/500.

Come on in, the water is fine. Join me for a swim...

The third was shot with my Canon Digital Rebel XSi using a 70 - 300 mm lens at 165 mm. ISO 200, f 5.0 at 1/320.

Come on over, I won't bite...

Gator at 165 mm

And finally, this was shot with the same equipment. ISO 200, f 5.6 at 300 mm. Unfortunately, these last two pictures were taken in horrible lighting (just after high noon). But I figured if I came back later he would be gone.

Now that you are closer, would you please brush my beautiful teeth?...

Nice work, Thomas! They're in their element down there! I really like the head shot out of the water. Great reflections and composition. I love the wildlife down in FL, but I didn't have all my gear when I lived there, so all my digital pics are in my head with no way to download them! I had a few run ins with crocs on the golf courses down there...but of course, no camera at the ready! We took the kids to Gatorland a few years ago and they loved it! We spent the whole day there! Thanks for sharing these pics, Thomas! Very nice!
