Default Going back!

A few months ago, I was detoured from my normal way of getting to work...A bridge over the river Scioto or some such matter was being replaced, so for 3 months I had to go a different way. I got to see a few structures that were not part of my normal route; houses, churches, old bridges, barns...outhouses....

Well of course I had my camera and I would stop and get pictures of some of the more interesting buildings. One of which was this little gem:

Old Barn

The rest of what ever was on the property is long since gone and the only other sign that something else was here was an old asparagus patch on the front "lawn". Just a little gem of a bldg. out in the middle of nowhere.

Fast forward three months. Winter is almost here and the trees are almost bare. I accidentally forgot to turn down my normal road to work and instead found myself smack dab in front of that shed again. But this time there was a decidedly different feel to the picture.:

Old barn October

There are so many differences between the two...and it is the same shot. The evergreen back behind and to the right, and that old gate are just totally buried by the trees, but now they take precedence over the trees that have now lost their leaves. The Ivy as well is almost not there. Plus the blue sky...well fake blue...it was a gray day (DARN OHIO WEATHER!) any hew, the blue sky is yet another "new" element to the composition.

Two shots of the same shed. Taken three months apart. Both totally unique. If you have a place that you have photographed during the year, say in the spring, I encourage you to go look again. You may find something totally different.

Wow it does look quite different and has a tatally different feel to it than the first shot. I much prefer the greenery surrounding it, it adds more of an alive feel to the scene. I will have to go back and revisit some of the shots I took over winter now that summer is almost here. TFS
