Default Went to See The USS New York

Took a ride to see the USS New York unfortunately we weren't the only people who wanted to see it. It was only open till 12:00 we got there at 9:00 and waited on line for about 2 hours before we were told we would not be getting on. Good thing the Intrepid was there for us to go on. Here are a few images from the day. There are more on my Flickr site

Great shots Frank, love the second shot. Sorry to hear you didn't make the USSNY, but the Intrepid holds an interest for me. My dad served on the Intrepid during WWII and I've heard many stories about this ship. Lots of thanks for sharing.

It is an amazing ship. I could not believe how big it is or how many planes there were on the deck. It was a great day with the family. I would have like to see the USSNY up close.

Thanks for looking

Frank

The US fleet always comes into Fremantle Harbour back in Perth West Australia, we use to go and look over the ships..It was amazing how big it is below on those aircraft carriers. I love the photo of the planes and i have to say the USS New York is very unusual looking but i know how special it is to everyone especially those who lost family etc on 911..thanks for sharing these.

Thats disappointing but at least you managed some great images from the trip with the aircraft carrier being my ultimate deterrent, nice set Frank

Nice shots. The intrepid is a tiny tiny carrier. I was on the John F Kennedy a few years ago when it docked near the Intrepid - and while the JFK is not a big carrier by today's standards it dwarfed the Intrepid.

The day turned out great even though we didn't get on the USSNY. The Intrepid was great to see.

Thanks for looking
