Thanks Jenny. As I was driving away I saw an even more interesting potential picture that I wished I hadn't missed: a little old lady having a short conversation with him. I would have loved to have captured the contrast. She looked fairly conservative and in her 80's. He looks nearly the polar opposite. But they both looked genuinely interested in what the other was saying. It would have made a great shot. Oh well. I was happy to get the few that I did.

Thanks! I have a preferance for the first one too, but only because you can see the shaddow of his head to the right of him. I only have the on camera flash so it is what it is. I didn't have a lot of time to experiment so I just tried a few different things to see what would work best. The sun was going to be setting behind Walmart about a half hour after I took the shots, so there wasn't a whole lot of available light, and I wasn't sure how ISO 1600 was going to look in a portrait (still kind of new to my camera). I guess from now on I'll trust my camera more and just go with the higher ISO's. I might get Noise Ninja sometime soon too.
