Hi all
The Ashmoleon the uks oldest Museum here in Oxford has finally opened its doors this weekend to reveal its new £61,000,000 face lif and adding 39 new galleries is now open to the public after i year. Exhibits that have been archived for many years are now on display including the japanese armour , T. E Lawrence's desert robes and so much more.I was more interested in the building design, especially the balconies, its an incredible design

Sweet mercy, Diz! You are my b/w hero. Amazing composition in all of them...not just a chance happening. I love the sihlouette-like effect in the first, but with just a hint of detail. And I love the geometry in the last ones...the lines are great! Incredible design is right, and rightfully captured by you! Thanks for sharing this!

Very cool! I too like the last one best - the comp and lines in that one are striking. And is that a camera hanging off the guy's back?

Wow Mike. That's a lot of walking up and down those stairs. These are some really aweome shots. How do you keep coming up with such great ideas? I'm also floored by the 61,000,000 pounds. (sorry don't have that little symbol on my computer)

Sweet mercy indeed. As much as I love seeing everyone's photos here, I'm going to have to stop posting. My self-esteem is suffering.

Hi Shirley
there wasnt enough walking across the balconies. I looked at all the exhibits on display then went back to this spot, i stood there for ages waiting as i had noticed something in one of my first shots-silhoettes. The VASs(visitor advisor assisstants) were getting a bit edgy lol!!.
thanks for posting shirl

nicky
that is exactly what you should not do.I would be very dissapointed if i didnt see anymore of your photos, the lighthouse the great black and white conversions you just did.I used to get so put off when i dropped onto some of the flickr b/w groups, not anymore as its not about competing or creating the most desirable image known to mankind to get noticed. I rebel i do the opposite of whats expected and with a twist, a sunflower in black and white or with the museum, not the exhibits but the shapes, forms and people.I spend my whole time just looking around and have become very dangerous on a bicycle lol!
looking forward to your next thread hint!!
