Default Back to the beginning

I've spent the last few weeks of my " Photo " time preparing for, shooting , and editing a wedding, and I've gotten away from what I really love doing.. shooting nature. So in order to maintain some sort of confidence ( the wedding has knocked me down quite a few notches ) .. I went out this morning and shot what I started with almost a year ago.

Up before dawn and out to the beach for the Sunrise.. I really would have liked a few scattered clouds and a little more height on the waves, but I like the way this one came out.

now I know " Wide Angle Vin ... your too tight", but I don't like my Kit lense much, so I'm using my artistic license card heh

off the beach and into the woods.. I was being watched !

and I was watching ... and look what I added to my bird collection WILD TURKEY !! , I've only seen them a few times in my whole life, this was a fleeting moment shot, they were moving pretty quick away from me,

this is unbelivable catch for me.. I may never see one again.

And I add a bird I should have added to my collection months ago, The Great Blue Heron ,but havn't had a chance to get one in focus.. I hope to get more of them , would love a real good species shot, but this is a start

Life is good, Photography is therapy and I still can shoot the eyes out of a squrriel at 50 yards !!

Thanks much for taking a look,

Vin

Variety is the spice of life but it is good to take pictures of what you like, especially when you do it so well.
I love this first one, breathe in the sea air, reflect and enjoy and to take pictures of the sun rising out of the ocean.
The second is cute, it is of course a DPS member disguised as a squirrel to get tips on 'how to do it'
The turkey heard someone talking about cranberry sauce and the final one completes the heron happy families set.

I love them all my friend, the sunrise is fantastic and takes the blue ribbon, and it's good to see you working again.

Life is good Vin, Photography is therapy and you can still shoot the eyes out of a DPS member at 50 yards

Aren't you back in your comfort zone, and in a big way!! The turkey shot is something else. I scared up two while running in the undeveloped part of our subdivision. It was quite an exciting sight, but I don't have a photo to prove it! This is a well deserved respite after all the work you put in on the wedding.

Hi Vin - you mean photographing a squirrel 50 yards and still see his eyeballs? .. I'm sure that's what you mean ... I can tell you're back to where you're the most confortable .. great variety and I sincerely hope you have another chance with the wild turkey ... outstanding set

your shot of the Ocean is truly remarkable! Love the colors of the oh so peaceful sky, and the turmoil of the roaring waves. Nicely done.
